We are working on a bird project in our department

The school children have each chosen a bird which they have studied, drawn, built in clay and painted in the right colours. We make bird food, recreate bird sounds with instruments and make birds in different materials.
The children keep a close eye on which birds visit the feeding ground.
We also diligently use nrksuper, YouTube and salaby to take a closer look at the various species.
This has engaged both children and adults.
We cover almost all subject areas:
Art, culture and creativity, number of rooms and form, communication, language and text, nature, environment and technology, local environment and society, ethics, philosophical conversations and a bunch of engaged children and parents.
Remember the garden bird count 2021, the last weekend in January.
It will be exciting to see where this ends.
