The sandbox can be a great learning arena with opportunities for good play. We can use the sandbox as a place where the children can interact and be creative.
Today we spent a long time in the sandbox and pretended we were in the kitchen baking a chocolate cake. Children need adults to engage in their play. The adults have to join the game in order to give the children the vital play skills.
