Today we had an experiment for the oldest children. And it was so catchy that I just have to recommend it to you in here!
We have talked about COLD and HOT porridge. So today we took ICE COLD water in one jam jar and BOILING HOT in the other glass. Put both glasses in a transparent plastic box, which was filled with lukewarm water. I then unscrewed the lids on both jars. Guess what happened then!
Yes, the cold (BLUE) water remained in the glass, while the warm (RED) water rose to the surface.
When the children ran out to their dad (or mum) and proudly told them that "the cold is on the floor and the heat is up in the ceiling" Yes, then the children have understood the message.
