We have made chalk with the children, the chalks work really well and give much better color than the ones we buy. Recipe:
Stir together modeling plaster, paint and a little water to form a liquid mixture. Pour into small cardboard tubes (we have used the cardboard tubes that are inside silver foil and plastic foil) Can also use doro wool cores. Seal one side with tape or foil so that it does not flow through. Let them stand and dry for 1-2 days before removing the cardboard. Then the cardboard will be damp so that it is easy to tear off. Then add the chalks to dry for an extra day before use!
