It's nice to count down the days until Christmas
In the forest kindergarten in Senja municipality, this year we have chosen to have Advent gatherings in groups. It's nice to count down the days until Christmas.
This year there was a song calendar, Advent calendar with 24 songs.
A concrete symbolizing a song. 24 date bags and 24 songs. Which also stimulates good language learning, anticipation and wonder about what is hidden in the next date bag. The children also got to practice counting.
The song selection was Christmas carols and a bunch of well-known songs that the children sing throughout the year.
This was originally an idea taken from Fantasifantasten, and Trude Anette Brendeland's website. She has inspired me to create this calendar. For her part, she has created a rhyme, poem and rule calendar.
I also sneaked in a little science experiment, the children got to see what happens to the magic balloon if we stick it over a soda bottle filled with vinegar and baking soda.
