He had very strong stomach pains and the doctors rushed in and immediately put him on the operating table. One of the doctors cut him open and it turned out that he had eaten various rubbish. Plastic caps, a mask and a gingerbread lay undigested in the teddy bear's stomach. They picked everything out, wearing gloves of course, because there was a lot of blood. Afterwards they sewed him up and he was moved to post-operative. There he received good care and later managed to eat a clementine. The doctors agreed with the hospital director that Bamse would be allowed to stay on a bed post at Ruffen for a few days until he felt better.
