The whale with plastic in its stomach

The whale with plastic in its stomach

This kindergarten year, we have had water as our theme. As a big project, the pre-school children have made a huge whale.

They used a huge amount of packaging from garden furniture, chicken wire, paper, tissue paper and wallpaper paste. Many of the children had caught the news story about the dead whale that had 30 plastic bags in its stomach and this helped to start the project of making a whale. They have collected plastic in nature and in the spring. Many times I walked past the project thinking that this was probably not going to be a whale but what a wonderful surprise I got. Hooray for our clever educational leader Ingebjørg Hagen and the pre-school children in Rabbevågen kindergarten
