Theme: democracy, diversity and solidarity

At Eventyrdalen kindergarten in Bergen, we are well underway with the theme: democracy, diversity and solidarity and have chosen to explore...

India: we are well underway with painting the Indian flag and now the inspiration corner is finished.

When the children come up the stairs, there is Indian music on and things we have talked about in the gathering times and on walks. Soon we will have a drama where we "travel" on a magic carpet to India to meet the Indian girl Geeta, (starting point in literature) who will take us around her village. We find natural materials on trips, as they don't have as much money and toys as we do and the children have to use their imagination to use them to play with.

Experiences with art and culture in bhg can lay the foundation for belonging, participation and own creative work. In the kindergarten, the children will have aesthetic experiences with art and culture in various forms and organized in ways that give the children the opportunity for exploration, deepening and progression (p. 50)
