I found two ladybirds in the nursery that were mating
A 4-year-old boy came up to me and spotted these ladybugs, he wondered terribly what these two were doing. I told them they make ladybug babies.
The boy looked at me and asked how they do it. I had to think quickly to give an answer. It's like when a mum and dad are fond of each other and they enjoy themselves, a baby can be born. Oh, said the boy, it wasn't worse than that and then he ran on. Wonderful with children who ask and wonder about things, was probably a little "worse" for me who had to explain it you always get a richer experience when you work with children.
